Documents and money

Passport valid for your whole stay, K-ETA approval or your e-Arrival card, a printed or saved copy of your accommodation address in Korean, and your travel insurance details.

A main payment card and a backup card, plus some Korean won for markets and small shops.

Phone, power and tech

An unlocked phone for a local SIM or eSIM, a plug adapter for two round pins (Korea uses 220 V at 60 Hz), and chargers that say 100โ€“240 V. A 110 V-only device needs a voltage converter.

Keep power banks in your carry-on with the terminals covered, and remember you cannot use them to charge devices on board.

Health

Medicine in its original packaging with a doctorโ€™s letter, and a check that none of it contains narcotic ingredients. Sun protection in summer and lip balm in winter are easy to add.

Clothing basics

Comfortable walking shoes.

If you plan to visit temples, bring modest clothes: avoid short shorts, sleeveless tops and bare feet.
