Can I use Google Maps in Korea?
Answer status
PARTLY, DIRECTIONS ARE LIMITED
Quick answer
You can look at the map and search places, but Google Maps’ turn-by-turn navigation is limited in Korea because of the country’s map-data rules. Keep Naver Map or KakaoMap installed for directions.
In February 2026 Korea conditionally approved Google’s request to export map data, with security conditions. Until Google rolls out changes, plan to use a Korean map app for directions.
